I remember the first time I traveled outside my home country, Canada. I was only 8 and my family drove to Niagara Falls. It wasn’t far, but to go someplace new was exciting. I was young and a lot smaller so you can imagine how in awe I was of the magnificent falls. I remember gripping onto the railing and gaping in wonder at the falls in front of me. I had never experienced being so close to something like that, a natural wonder of the world. It was sensory overload for a child - the deafening sound of rushing waters and feeling the mist on your face. It was a great feeling, a freeing feeling. From that moment, I wanted to travel more and see more. I wanted to learn how to become a travel writer.
