In a typical room with 10 low voltage downlighters, 4 picture lights and 3 table lamps you have huge amounts of flexibility in your lighting scenes. You can split the room in to three channels by incorporating the downlighters on one channel, picture lights on one channel and table lamps on another. Scene one could therefore be a reading scene with downlighters at 5%, picture lights at 10% and table lamps at 50%. This would give you a certain amount of warmth from the downlighters, show off your pictures on the walls and give you a comfortable light for reading. Scene 2 might be an entertaining scene with slightly higher downlighter levels. By splitting the downlighters in to two channels you could introduce even more flexibility – same with the table lamps.
