My husband and I declared bankruptcy last year. It was a tough thing to do, but I was not able to handle the calls from the debt collectors anymore. I was under the impression that once we filed the calls would cease. They did for almost a year, and then they started up again last week. When I told the collector that we had handled that in bankruptcy court, she did not seem to care. I am going to read through some of the Charleston bankruptcy law, and see if there is any information about this. I do not want the calls to start up again.
