Joseph’s parents had come to the United States from Scotland. When Joseph’s dad built their home, he naturally included a hanging glass rack in many of the public rooms of the house, in order to always be able to enjoy drinking alcoholic spirits, as well as offering their guests beverages. It is a very classy thing to see when you go into Josephs’ parent’s home, and you spy all of the glass racks with their gleaming crystal glasses contained there. It is even more fun, when Joseph’s dad offers you a nip of scotch whiskey, as he tells you embellished and entertaining stories of his homeland!
