When I turned 13 years old, my mother took me to the local department store and bought me some quality makeup. In addition to the make up, we took home tons of makeup samples for me to be able to play and experiment with. It was truly a bonding afternoon with my mom and I hope I can re-create that with my own daughter when she turns 13. I am not much of a makeup wearer myself, but I know how important it is for teens to look like their friends and I want her to learn the right way to do things.
