My friend had sort of a misunderstanding with her partner and needed some time out of their apartment. She needed a place to spend the night so she called me. Of course I invited her over. My friend and I have been through a lot together since college. So I set her up in my spare bedroom. When I handed her the blankets, she said thanks but no thanks as she brought her own electric blanket. I was surprised and asked her about the blanket. She said that electric blankets could provide such comfortable warmth for her that she never spends a night out without it. She told me to try one out next time, and I agreed.

My daughters wanted new things to wear while we are away on our trip to Florida this year. They have had the same things for a couple of years now, so I agreed they could go to the web and find the site that I use to get themselves some new beach wear for our family vacation trip. So totally didn’t know when Chinese New Year–my bad. But you know what? It’s not my fault. They’ve got a different crazy calendar so it doesn’t fall on the same day every year. This year it falls on February 14, 2010. That’s right. It’s the same day as Valentine’s Day. So this year when people ask me, “How are you spending your Valentine’s Day?” i’m gonna say, “Uh, duh. I’m going to celebrate the Chinese New Year.” And even though they’ll most likely have no idea what I’m talking about, at least I won’t be saying, “I got dumped by my boyfriend and will be spending it alone.” AGAIN. I am a super avid fan of the FarmVille game and I have been playing it for  months now. Sad to say, I wasn’t really progressing. My farm was bare and I kept running out of fuel from time to time. I was growing increasingly frustrated with what I was doing. I knew I had to find a way to quickly increase my farm earnings and bring myself out of this misery.

Thankfully, I sounded my problem to my classmate who showed me this guide on FarmVille. I was totally amazed with what I saw! There were so many tips and strategies that I could not finish reading them in 2 days!

Anyway, that was my history. My farm is thriving and I could not wait to get my villa soon!

I find wintertime in Ohio to be very depressing.  The short days, lack of sunlight, cold temperatures, and driving in the snow is enough to make me consider moving to Florida.  But since I love the other three seasons here, I make the best of it.  I plan a project for the spring to help me get through the worst of the winter.  This year I am going over plans to build a new patio on the back of our house.  I am leaning toward stamped and colored concrete instead of a wooden deck.  The Internet is a great source for ideas and so is my local home improvement store.  I’m on a first-name basis with some of the sales associates there.  Just this afternoon I dropped by to look at the different styles of patio lanterns they have available.  When I begin planning one of my projects, my husband says he thinks it would be easier to move to Florida.

Some of us never know when we will need to take our children to a day care.  Most day care facilities do not offer a way to pay as you go, so to speak.  I found a child care facility that allows me to pay for only the days I need to have my child in their facility.  I do not work at an outside job, but I do participate in several community activities where I am either on the board or I have some responsibility.  I cannot always take my baby girl with me to the meetings I attend, so Bensenville childcare is there for me on the days I need them.
